Families may apply for a place in Sleepover Club for their child in the first instance to Kim Thomas, the Head of Care. Consultation will be held with the family to ensure that all the child’s needs can be met.

The application will then be presented to the Admissions Panel which consists of the Heads of Care from the five Staffordshire Residential Special Schools, Julie Stevenson, County Improvement Manager for Inclusion and Lesley Calverley, Senior Commissioning Officer – SEND.

If a place is agreed, an induction will be planned as soon as there is a bed available.

All placements are reviewed by the Admissions Panel every six months. They may continue beyond the six months if there is capacity but a phased exit is planned for students in the year prior to leaving school. Where there is a higher demand than availability for places, it may be necessary to reduce the provision for those who have accessed it for a long period of time to ensure equity to newcomers.

The Admissions Policy, known as ‘Residential Educational Provision in Staffordshire’ may be found on the ‘Important Documents’ page.
